Please email me your t-shirt size ASAP so that I can begin ordering Cyber Storm t-shirts.
Remember that we will not be meeting on Fridays.
Please note that we will meet on Wed 14 Mar. The purpose of this meeting will be to collect six (6) Google Nexus S phones for use in the Programming with Android (Cyber Engineering pilot) course and to discuss some short- and long-term goals. There were 10 phones checked out and we will need 6 of them. So everyone that has one, please bring it to class and we will figure out how to collect 6 of them.Note that I sent an email to collect the phones prior to class (before 11, actually) in my office. We will still meet today (Wed 14 Mar).
Please upload all of your video and images from Cyber Storm to my FTP server: 138.47.102.213 port 4885 in the incoming directory. Feel free to download if you want.
Take the MFT for Computer Science either on Thurs 10 May or Fri 11 May at 8am, 10am, 1pm, or 3pm. The test takes about two hours. You will need to make an appointment by calling the Testing Center at 318.257.4882.
Assignments (note that each item here will be graded):
Everyone: if you have not yet signed the letter of agreement or the device agreement, please print it (or them) out, sign it (or them), and turn it (or them) in at the beginning of class on Wed 14 Mar.
The web team: remember to have the first page image shift, various versions of the header logo, and the other small tidbits (the Academics sublinks and the Connect link) addressed by midnight this Fri 16 Mar. Here are some useful links:
Please note that I only need the modified files emailed back to me. Also, start thinking about the mobile device version of the web site.
The web team: overhaul your design document. It may require a great deal of "redo." Please pay attention to detail and don't shove this down the road. I expect a finished and professional version delivered via email in DOC and PDF formats by Fri 23 Mar. [upload]
The web team: Here are some comments from the CS faculty on your web site design. Note that I have marked comments that have already been addressed. Please address the rest in your written document and design. Note that you will have to justify your choices (i.e., why you choose to implement a suggestion or not)
Ammendment of your written document (due Fri 6 Apr) [upload]
Changes to the web site (due Fri 20 Apr) [upload] -- Again, the web site can be viewed here and can be obtained (as a zip file) here
The pilot team: remember to have the first CSC120 lab (the one Mr. White is working on) emailed to me by midnight on Fri 16 Mar. You should turn in the templated lab (the one the students will get), the finished lab (the solution), and a ZIP file containing the lab's directory (source files in Eclipse). I will run through it myself before I introduce it to the pilot class next Mon.
The pilot team: please add a column to the Overview Matrix that specifies the class that the lab covers (either CSC120 or CSC122). Also, please highlight (in red) the ones you have not yet completed. Have this done by Fri 16 Mar.
The pilot team: The next six labs will be due as follows:
Rough draft of lab reports (due Fri 30 Mar) [upload]
Revised draft of the lab report AND student version of the lab source exported as an Eclipse file system (due Fri 13 Apr) [upload]
Final draft of the lab report AND completed version (solution) of the lab exported as an Eclipse file system (due Fri 20 Apr) [upload]
The pilot team: Reaction papers (due the Friday after the Android class submits their reaction papers):
The pilot team: overhaul your design document. It may require a great deal of "redo." Please pay attention to detail and don't shove this down the road. I expect a finished and professional version delivered via email in DOC and PDF formats by Fri 23 Mar. [upload]
Everyone: begin to think about your presentations to the Industry Advisory Board (scheduled for Fri 4 May, 1-2:30pm). Your final slides will be due on Thurs 3 May by midnight. You will do a mock presentation on Wed 2 May in class. [upload]
Everyone: note that from Mon 23 Apr through Fri 4 May you should be primarily focusing on Cyber Storm. That means everything else should be finished (the web site, the pilot labs, the written documentation for your projects, your presentation slides, etc).
We'll debrief the IAB presentations and discuss the MFT test on Mon 7 May
